WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.715362 - Apr 29, 2025

I really don't hope so. That would be very bad.

In CEC Power Control on mode it shall just NOT disabled the ARC at any time and it shall allow HDMI ARC auto sensing to detect if TV is outputting sound.

When CEC Power Control is off it shall disable ARC at any time except when HDMI is selected as input.
I completely fail to understand what your problem is. Currently there is a bug that when you turn off spotify/tidal connect the audio does not return to hdmi by itself. You have to do it manually every time which is annoying. Previously it worked perfectly.

There are two different use cases. And there are different issues currently in both cases.

I don't care about the case where the HDMI ARC control is automated (on) but many does. This is the case you are referring to where not all is automated.

When off, all should be manual and most is, except when turning the TV on. Then it behave as if was automated (changes speakers on TV even if the WiiM Ultra stay in standby).

What is needed is one toggle that switch between these two use cases: "Automatic HDMI ARC mode"

Bug Fixes:
  1. Reverted HDMI behavior: auto-switches to HDMI when other inputs stop.
I don't see that this is working in automatic HDMI ARC mode. The input do not change back to the TV input when other input is paused. Only difference is that the TV no longer changes to internal speakers when another input is selected.
  1. Power-off CEC option to be added in next release for standby mode.
Shall just be the default when not in automatic HDMI ARC mode. The rest works fine in that mode.

I have connected my TV to the Ultra.
It looks fine on my TV.

If I press the preset button with YouTube playing on the TV, it switches to Spotify playback and the TV audio stops. Then, when I stop Spotify, it automatically switches to HDMI input and the YouTube audio is output from the WiiM again.

It is back to normal🙂

How do you stop Spotify? Press pause or something else?

If I play a Radio Station and pause it, the WiiM Ultra just go into standby even though the TV is outputting over ARC.

I use the stop button or Alexa to stop it.
Sorry, I don't listen to radio stations so haven't tried it. I already disconnected the HDMI cable...

I confirm It workes as described and for me it is expected behaviour. For me it’s back to normal and I am very glad of this update.

I tested my ultra quickly with YouTube and Tidal. When I paused Tidal (via Wiim Home) and resumed YouTube with Tv on, Ultra switched to HDMI automatically.

I can get that to work also but only if the optical auto sensing is on.

I experienced this same anomaly. But my only audio output interface is USB so the "Failure" did not have any practical effect since I couldn't connect to a different output other than USB even if it gave me the option.

wkamil, Do you have an output other than USB that you could connect to but you can't due to this Failure?

Isn't that in line with what's reported? There has never been a separate HDMI auto sensing, only ever optical and HDMI combined, with HDMI taking precedence over optical.

I can change the outputs but only on the device, in the application an error appears as in the screenshot.
