Like a PC?I was thinking that. If this is 'everything except a streamer', then it's ideal for anyone who owns something that's 'just a streamer'.

Again, the comparison doesn't really hold up because your Topping has a big external power supply.
Like a PC?![]()
Imagine if WiiM, "went full Kool-aid," and came out with a separate, linear power supply unit in the same form factor as the WiiM Ultra and the Vibelink, and it had dual outputs, one to the streamer and one to the amp.Well, I suppose some amps have external power supplies and some internal. Both are always an option.
So two devices with no use at all?Imagine if WiiM, "went full Kool-aid," and came out with a separate, linear power supply unit in the same form factor as the WiiM Ultra and the Vibelink, and it had dual outputs, one to the streamer and one to the amp.
Might as well come out with a vacuum tube version of the WiiM Ultra.

Hence my point about the Kool-aidSo two devices with no use at all?
Ah yeah.. that's where I've just seen It.Discussing in thread 'WiiM Vibelink Amp' https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/wiim-vibelink-amp.6573/
Ah yeah.. that's where I've just seen It.
I asked the reps if It was based on the tpa chip = 'yes' was the answer I got.Ah yeah.. that's where I've just seen It.
Ah, the third one is RCA, okay. I couldn't make that bottom one out, the coax and optical was clearer. Not sure if this has been observed before, but you can make out in the Stereonet photos that the front panel input selector reads Coax / Optical / RCA.
...It was running some klipsch bookshelves into the ultra...I didn't sound great..I didn't stay in the room long
That WiiM Ultra + IOM Ultra ;-)wiim amp ultra with min. 2x200w 4ohm
Why would it have XLR, when it is designed to complement other WiiM devices which don’t have XLR Output. So no XLR![]()
Or USB...Ah, the third one is RCA, okay. I couldn't make that bottom one out, the coax and optical was clearer.
So no XLR

have there been any experience reports of the iom ultra? it looks very promising. That WiiM Ultra + IOM Ultra ;-)
As discussed earlier in the thread, to try and engage owners of competing streamers. Why would it have XLR, when it is designed to complement other WiiM devices which don’t have XLR Output.![]()
Plenty including my own. It does sound great, tons of power. Clean, ultra low noise floor. The only reason I didn’t keep it is because of the moderate pop when powering on and off; I gave it to my dad who loves it (and leaves his system on 24/7).have there been any experience reports of the iom ultra? it looks very promising.
