According to the datasheet, this TI chip digitizes the analog input. Wonder why it is used, whereas there are many SPDIF receiver (digital front-end) chips without ADC - if this claim is true:
The analog input is directly bypassed to the amplifier, without passing through the TI PCM9211, which is used as an interface for digital inputs like optical and coaxial. Using the analog input you'll be getting a pure analog input with no ADC conversion.

You may need to suggest the WiiM Marketing Team rework that problematic line in the Product Description. Make it unambiguous, and put the confusion to rest.

Thank you for the clarification. So, based on this, what would be the best method for connecting a WiiM Pro Plus to the Vibelink - Line in or Digital?
I'd go with s3igell's suggestion, try both and see what you like :) I don't think we really have an official recommendation on that one, as both options should sound great.

Oh, okay. Thank you for the reply. Will depend on the price it will go for in Australia, but it's not looking affordable for me at this stage. :)

the price isn’t ‘amazing’ compared to the competition.
I tend to agree. I was very disappointed to see its US dollar price, which will no doubt mean around 499 Australia dollars if it is launched here as well. That would put it way out of my reach, especially as my Fosi amp was only $79! I certainly couldn't justify paying more than 6 times more for this amp, as good as it seems and looks, especially with no remote included apparently.

This is the dictionary definition of a good idea.

Basically the machine is laid so "it is as it is", not really a subject... (this question, originally, was just to know if I was taking the general diagram of the amp pro in simplified form)
but the problems encountered with ground loop on this input by the reviewer of asr, armim, are to be investigated seriously it seems to me, no?...
(see once clarified perhaps re-proposed to the measurement)?
;-)

I dont know..
Because fosi amp isn't the vibelink amp is it?

Just wondering - with the lack of any networking or USB, does this mean that there'll be no ability to update firmware should any bugs be identified? Or is the device so hardware-oriented that it's not really relevant to have firmware updates? Thanks.

Looks like the latter to me

Most DACs (which are just DACs and nothing else) don’t have firmware updates. Ditto most power amps.

This is a power amp with a DAC, so I’m guessing it’s not necessary.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to get at here.

If you’re saying it’s made to match the Ultra, then why waste money putting in a DAC?

If you’re saying it’s to match all WiiM streamers, then yes that’s great (a good way towards for Mini and Pro owners), but I can’t see how it suits them more than any other amp, or DAC/amp.
