Hi WiiM Community,

We're recruiting beta testers to try out our brand-new "Separate Room Correction and EQ" feature!

Room Correction and EQ are now independent, giving you more flexibility to fine-tune your listening experience. While they serve different purposes, they can be used together to deliver a more personalized and immersive audio setup.

Interested in trying it out? Just head to Device Settings > Device Info > Join Beta Testing to get started.

Known Issues:
1. When the previous EQ created by Room Correction is migrated to the new Room Correction Profiles, you’ll need to manually select the previously used profile.
2. The Remove, Edit, and Import features for RC profiles are scheduled to be implemented this week or next.

Hi @WiiM Team ,

I've been looking forward to this.
I did a quick test and both RC and EQ were applied properly and appear to have no issues.

A few questions and future requests.

Currently it does not seem possible to set RC for Per-Output, will this be possible in the future? Or will it be possible to select RC in smart presets? (e.g., I would like to enable RC on the speaker outputs, and turn off RC on the headphones and apply only PEQ.)

I can't seem to view the RC results and edit the PEQ created by the RC. Sorry this is very disappointing to me. Will it be possible to view or edit RC results in the future?
(If this is not possible, I would like the ability to copy the RC results and save them as a PEQ.)

Thank you 🤗.

Edit : Also, I can't seem to delete the RC I created. Am I doing something wrong?🤔

A few additional notes for beta testers.

After installing the beta version and restarting the app, the RC data will disappear from the PEQ list and move to the RC settings screen. For this reason, if you have data that you do not want to delete from the list, I recommend that you save it under a different name.
(RC data will not revert to the PEQ list when the beta version is converted back to the public version.)

Tap the gear in the upper right corner of the RC screen to open the RC Settings screen.

RC results are listed here.

After beta testing on the Ultra will this be available for the Amp?

Will it be able to se the correction curve I have made with RC. Before I could do some fine adjustments of the RC curve depending on furniture, carpets etc, but now I can´t find the made profile

I’m a little confused by this and its implementation - I’ll need to read the above carefully and try it again. Simplistically, I viewed the EQ options we had as GEQ or PEQ/RC. I thought we were getting GEQ plus PEQ/RC I.e. we could apply GEQ on top of PEQ/RC, but this reads like RC is separated out from PEQ, and we can then apply GEQ and PEQ on top - or is it just one of GEQ or PEQ same as before on top of RC?

I don't think can do that. It seems all we can do now is select one from the list of profiles.

There may bee something wrong with my installation, but I can´t find the frequency graph that is shown after RC when I finish the RC mode. I save it with a name, but how does it looks like. Before I could find the nodes in the room, move furniture or carpets, new RC and then fine tune with PEQ. Itś still possible but much harder if you don´t have the graph with ”freq, dB and q”

As you stated, the RC has been completely separated from the PEQ/GEQ. As it stands now, the RC applies to all outputs (Unless you turn it off), and you can layer a PEQ (or GEQ) on top of the RC.

I was concerned that the previous team's reply about this feature was not clear, but it still does not seem to be possible to switch RC for each output. For now 🤔.

Hi Wiimer,

For Per-Output Room Correction (RC), we plan to implement it in the next stage. In Stage 1, our focus will be on separating Room Correction and EQ. After that, we will support importing AutoEQ profiles for headphone output, either from the AutoEQ database or via manual input.

As for editing Room Correction results (Edit, Import, Delete), these features will be implemented this week or next, and a new beta version of the app will be released. We will also support importing profiles into Room Correction.

Again, I don't think it is possible to edit the RC later because it is not saved as a PEQ in this beta version.

Maybe the app needs to be updated, but until we get an answer from the team, I don't know anything.

I am relieved to hear that.
So far it works fine and I really like being able to stack PEQ on RC.

Thank you very much.

Hi Team,

The Room Correction and manual EQ are two independent processing stages:
  • Room Correction (RC) optimizes sound based on your speaker setup and room acoustics.
  • EQ (PEQ/GEQ) allows for personalized sound tuning based on your listening preferences.

While some have suggested tying RC and EQ to specific inputs/outputs, we believe it's more effective to keep them separate - RC for acoustic optimization and EQ for personal adjustment.

If you use different outputs or setups, you can run multiple RC calibrations—not necessarily tied to each output. For example, if you're using a WiiM Speaker or Amp (typically with one output), you can still create different RC profiles based on the device's location.

Similarly, for manual EQ, you can associate different presets with the same input. For instance, on an HDMI input, you could switch between EQs optimized for movies or dialogue depending on the content.

We hope this helps explain the reasoning behind our current design—and we truly appreciate your feedback!

It sounds like @WiiM Support and @WiiM Team have different views, or am I imagining things?😂

Are the use cases I mentioned above going to be switchable via smart presets?

On speaker out: enable RC.
On headphone output: disable RC and enable PEQ.

Hi Wiimer,

Yes, you can definitely do this without using Smart Presets.
Since Room Correction isn’t required for the headphone output, you can assign your own custom PEQ for it. When you switch back to speaker output, the system will automatically re-enable Room Correction for that output. It all happens seamlessly to match your setup!
