What speakers are you using?

There are quite a few threads discussing speakers.

I thought I’d just open one to the group where members can say what speakers they’re using, and maybe what their experiences are.

I mean every single WiiM Amp owner must be using speakers. 🤣

Possibly it’ll prove to be a good database for the future, and reduce the number of people asking for recommendations, etc.

Over to you.
Abacus Electronics Active powered speakers and Tisbury passive preamp.

Currently my WiiM amp pro is driving two bookshelves psb Alpha B1 speakers and it works quite well but I've noticed that they seem to have weaker/hollower basses than when I was using my former NAD C315BEE and I don't know if its the DAC or the Amp power. I've been able to add more bass by using the WiiM default "acoustic" equalizer profile. I'm looking for new bookshelves speakers but not sure if it will improve much or if I should start by adding a subwoofer first. I must say I have neighbors...

I can’t find a review and measurements of the B1. But here’s its big brother.

Wiim Amp running a pair of Bowers & Wilkins M-1 speakers and Asw608 subwoofer. With QED Pro (ofc) cable.

Do you have any suggestion for bookshelves speakers that would be a great match for the WiiM amp pro? Would this Buchardt s400 mk2 be a good idea or a waste of money? Thanks Steve.
In that price range I'd suggest to also have a look at the Kef R3 Meta and the Wharfedale Super Linton. You'll find very nice reviews with listening impressions and detailed measurements of both on erinsaudiocorner.com

Based on directivity patterns I'd expect the R3 Meta to project more focused/precise phantom images, and the Super Linton more diffuse phantom images and a wider soundstage with more envelopment. You might prefer one or the other.
Both speakers are very well engineered so should sound great with a wide variety of content.

Good luck in your search!

I don't think that curtain counts as subwoofer treatment ;)
But the speakers are certainly further out into the room than I'm alowed!

I use Wharfedale Diamond 12.1s.

In nearfield (so not driving the volume up) they’re tonally very neutral and low distortion. Also very well-built, look nice, and only £250 a pair.
