I get that. And agree. But it’s easy to add airplay. I added it to my ultra. Works great.
Just to be abundantly clear to those who haven’t seen your posts before, you connected a device that supports airplay to your ultra - the ultra itself still lacks it ;)

Whatever that is, but will 230v 50hz work if bought in US?
The vibelink amp and ultra have universal power supplies so I assume the wiim amp ultra will be the same
100v - 240v AC 50 -60hz automatic switching. You will just need a compatible lead/plug for your county. The C5 plug looks like this and plugs into the amp. So as long as the other end of this cable is specific to your country, ie US cable outlet then you will be okay. If not you will have to buy a cable specific to your country with the C5 end

Still no specs found on voltage, I ordered one anyway, most likely will work 230/50hz

Hello WiiM forum users and moderators, I have just joined the forum and would like to ask a question regarding comparing the new Amp Ultra to the combination of the Ultra and new Viblink amp. Looking at the manufacturers specifications on the website, the Viblink amp has a single TI3255 chip but the all in one Amp ultra has 2 TI3255 chips? This seems strange to have the cheaper all in one unit with 2 chips! The power output is listed as the same. Is this a typo? or is the twin chip all in one unit running the chips, one for each channel un-bridged?
It would be nice to have the designer/WiiM comment on what the benefits of using the twin chips, and which unit/s WiiM considers to have the superior performance, purely from a sonic perspective?

Many thanks, Andrew

The forum admin @RyanWithWiiM has already indicated that they’d like to do an interview with the Amp Ultra product manager along the same lines as was done for Vibelink (see the “WiiM Talks Vibelink” threads), but I’d imagine that’s not imminent. Until that happens, I’m sure some of the more knowledgeable and experienced forum members will have a stab at your questions.

Re pricing, I guess you meant the Amp Ultra is cheaper than the Ultra+Vibelink combo, not the Vibelink on its own. The Amp Ultra lacks the phono input and headphone output of the combo and of course has half the number of power supplies and cases than the combo ;) which would contribute to its lesser price.

Thank you for your reply Burnside.

If the twin chip (2 x TI3255) Amp Ultra sounds superior to the single chip Ultra/Vibelink combo, why would anyone buy the more expensive pairing! Maybe the Vibelink amp is about to be updated to the Vibelink pro, with twin chips! :)

Just because the twin chip amp is technically superior doesn't mean you can tell them apart. Some might require a phono input and/or a headphone output.

And some might already have an Ultra so buying a Vibelink would make more sense compared to discarding the former and getting an Amp Ultra.

I went to the OTOTEN 2025 audio show, which was held in Tokyo on 21st and 22nd June. Of course, to watch WiiM.

The WiiM booth featured three new products, but I wasn’t able to take my time looking at them. The venue was extremely crowded, and the Qobuz listening event started right after I arrived.

Sorry, I couldn't take many photos of WiiM, so instead of a review, this turned into a video diary, but I hope you enjoy the atmosphere of the show 😂

It was my first time attending an audio show, and I had a great time. I was also delighted to meet everyone from Emilai Co., Ltd. and WiiM.

Thank you 😀

Great that you enjoyed it, and I hope they realised they had finally met the inestimable @Wiimer :)

Yes I agree, if you need the phono input and headphone output, the choice would be easier, in my case I need neither. It will be interesting to hear them back to back. (y)

Or perhaps even Side To Side.

But they won't sound as different as Ariana and Nicki.

This is really close to the definition of end-game system in my dictionary. I only use streaming sources and I do not have demanding speakers, so having the network capabilities of a WiiM Ultra (without phono stage and some of the inputs that I anyway do not use) together with a decent dual-chip TPA-based amp in the same good-looking box with a (small) screen is all I could ask for.

It's a pity that I have just bought a used Rotel RB-1572 to pair with my Ultra and I am really in love with the combo... I think that WiiM should start a fidelity program by which we could give back some of our old WiiM products in exchange when buying the new releases... I have literally had all of them at some point as part of my systems.
Anyone with eyes could see from a mile away that we were going to get a Wiim ultra and an amp in one package. Wiim would gain nothing from a fidelity program as their margins are low on their products, as are their prices. People just need to be a little patient instead of always buying the next new thing.

While on the « people should » category, how about « people should not show such contempt when posting » ?
