If Airplay is included, I will definitely pay as much as Ultra and VIbelink combination.

I have an Ultra and Vibelink. With them, I can trigger the subwoofer and have a phono input for my turntable. Unfortunately, the Ultra amp doesn't have these connections, which I consider essential, for me.

The Amp Ultra has a subwoofer output and you can use an external phono preamp to connect a turntable.

I just got WiiM amp pros for my kitchen and dining room ceiling speakers which are B+W 8 inch, and not that hard to drive. I do have a 10 inch KEF T2 sub that is driven by one of the WiiM Amp pros. Other than a slightly better DAC is there any substantial benefit for me to return the Amp Pros and replace them with Amp Ultras? I don’t need the screen because these sit in the basement in a rack. If the DSP, EQ, power amp quality, power supply quality etc made a big enough difference I’d consider it. The $529 price is way less than the $699 Sonos Amp that I would have used so I still consider the cost reasonable. I’m not sure if the second TI power amp chip actually helps with sound quality in this set up at moderate listening levels or if it’s mostly there to help drive tougher low impedance speakers.

Hi Everyone! I'm new in the Wiim World! :)
I am interested to buying a wiim amp ultra to complete my simple home hi-fi setup (a pair of Polk Audio Monitor XT20 and a Subwoofer Polk Audio XT12). I think wiim amp ultra is the right solution all-in-one for me (what do you think? 😅)
When will it be available in europe and mainly on the italian market?
Thank you very much in advance ;)(y)

@Andrew78 (sono italiano anche io) you can buy the Ultra + Vibelink and have immediately the same (for me slightly better) performance that you can obtain from the Amp Ultra.

My expectation is that the amp ultra will sound pretty much the same as a (digitally fed) vibelink.
For me, the difference between an amp pro and a (digitally fed) vibelink was a quite reasonable improvement.
However, without trying to be disparaging about your setup, I also found that this was more obvious in some setups than others. The amp pro was still more than capble for "background" music, such as music while working etc., and eq / room correction helped tremendously.

i.e.I do think it'll be an improvement, but whether it'll be a worthwhile improvement may depend...

I'd personally only go with the Amp Ultra if I needed the additional features (e.g. the screen), or if I had very low-impedance speakers.

Note that the higher rated power of the Amp Ultra (100W into 8Ohm) over the Amp/Amp Pro (60W into 8Ohm) will only result in about 2dB higher max SPL which is not normally perceived as a significant difference at all - i.e. they should all play similarly "loud".

I'd also advise to take any perceived "sound quality" anecdotes with a grain of salt - there is no guarantee that the experience of other people will be shared by you, especially given that typical informal listening tests are notoriously prone to systematic errors.

In short my advice would be to decide mainly based on required feature set and preferred form factor. :)
