Which in many cases is a good thing.

Again, as an owner of stuff in both builds, I'm not saying that Apple is just better. However, for things like this, it certainly tends to be.

There's a lot of things I can't do on my Apple stuff that I can with Android. Facts. No way around it.

But that's only good when it even works.

The Apple stuff doesn't do it all, but what it does, it always does.
On average (and with few notable exceptions), Apple's market share in Europe is far lower than in the States. The gap is even bigger across Asia.

So, whatever WiiM do, they will have to please both camps for the (un-)foreseeable future.

No doubt, a more closed ecosystem makes things easier for software developers. And Apple has long been far ahead when it comes to things like MDM (mobile device management) or assistive technologies. Android is still catching up.

Testing in my Android-based DAP so far the lock screen thingymabobber is not coming up at all for me as other media apps such as Qobuz do, or how the WHA app works on my iPhone when in lock screen.

That being said, I don't find it fully consistent even on my iPhone.

Still not working on my main phone - a Pixel, but working on an old phone I set up to use as a media controller (Oppo). Every other media app is showing and working on the Pixel lockscreen though.

Any advice?

Do you allow all notification permissions for the WiiM app?

Q. Noticed that the Android version is now active in background constantly. This uses resources. Is this due to new lock screen functionality? Tia.

I guess so, WiiM mentioned in another reply that they’re looking to optimise that to minimise resource usage.

thank you for the USB Disk playback on the Lock Screen - Update! I love it ... a real bonus!

What a promising start with the "now playing" info on the lock screen & notification bar. Indeed, as others reported, the volume control is a bit weird. It will adjust while changing the volume with other apps playing in the foreground (like when showing instagram stories) + not going from 0 to 100 but some random values in-between. :)

Yes, see the discussion above. You can remove it easily if you wish.
I can disable it yes. But I like to have it, so I don't need to open the WHA or phone to change volume. Just use the volume buttons on the phone.

Audio Output not working with "failure" message here too, both on Google Pixel 8 pro phone and Redmi tablet. So the changing of DAC filters is no longer possible. Can we revert to the earlier app version (the last one with the bug is no longer listed in Google Playstore as I just checked)?
Any help would be appreciated (I haven't gotten a response to my ticket yet).

It’s been reported elsewhere that deletion and re-installation of the app can resolve this.
