WiiM Home App v3.2.1 Update – Apr 30, 2025

Which in many cases is a good thing.

Again, as an owner of stuff in both builds, I'm not saying that Apple is just better. However, for things like this, it certainly tends to be.

There's a lot of things I can't do on my Apple stuff that I can with Android. Facts. No way around it.

But that's only good when it even works.

The Apple stuff doesn't do it all, but what it does, it always does.
On average (and with few notable exceptions), Apple's market share in Europe is far lower than in the States. The gap is even bigger across Asia.

So, whatever WiiM do, they will have to please both camps for the (un-)foreseeable future.

No doubt, a more closed ecosystem makes things easier for software developers. And Apple has long been far ahead when it comes to things like MDM (mobile device management) or assistive technologies. Android is still catching up.

Testing in my Android-based DAP so far the lock screen thingymabobber is not coming up at all for me as other media apps such as Qobuz do, or how the WHA app works on my iPhone when in lock screen.

That being said, I don't find it fully consistent even on my iPhone.

Still not working on my main phone - a Pixel, but working on an old phone I set up to use as a media controller (Oppo). Every other media app is showing and working on the Pixel lockscreen though.

Any advice?

Do you allow all notification permissions for the WiiM app?
