WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.703434 - Jan 3, 2025

It's totally up to you if you allow automatic updates to happen on your smartphone. It's just between you and Google (or Apple).

Why would someone not check the release notes of the software he's using if there is a change in functionality?

Would my reply have been better if I hadn't mentioned the source of my wisdom?
It's about WiiM device update, not app update.

Go back and read for context. ;)

This thread is about firmware updates, but the ability to update multiple WiiM devices at once has been part of the app update to 3.0.9, of course.

Still no update for me.
I was previously whitelisted for an "unofficial" firmware version as I wrote WiiM team about my Qobuz Chromecast being broken. The issue was fixed with that update, but since then I don't seem to get the official updates anymore.
I thought I read someone else complaining of the same issue, sounds like the device may get removed from the general list for updates.

Please put me back in, WiiM team! :)

Ask them to remove you from the whitelist through feedback in the app.

Yeah, that’s what tends to happen although others with whitelisted Chromecast firmware have been getting subsequent updates, albeit later than everyone else.

You need to contact WiiM via the more/feedback section in the app to ask that they remove your device from the whitelist - I might do that too as they put me on it when I asked if whitelisted Chromecast firmware would get updates which they didn’t really answer.

No improvement with CC. I tried it with Qobuz and the result was only CD quality and very slow to start. And about “bands” for me were far better the old ones. Less disturbing. The best, for me, would be two black bands

Annoying, the background of the new playback screen looks really shit. Booger green pages and still way too bright at the lowest brightness setting; at a brown cover (e.g. Tidal: Corey Taylor, CMF2B.... or Not 2B). Now I'm forced to use a different playback screen. At least the blurry background kept the same color style.
@WiiM Team: Will we be able to change the "now playing cover screen" back to the previous state? Thanks!

I see no point of this new cast lite where gives us nothing but issues. The old chromecast works as advertised. Who supposed to fix this google or wiim?

Ops, maybe a lil' bug.
In the new maxed "playing screen" the progress bar is no longer visible from full left to full right screen.
It is visible only below the cover art. :(
