May be unrelated to this FW, but shortly after updating Ultra, I received a warning message that there was something issue with the Amp remote. (Amp is linked to Ultra.)

However, looking at the device settings on the Amp, the remote was paired correctly and the battery level was fine. Remote operation also worked correctly.

Eventually, after reinserting the batteries in the remote and re-pairing it, the warning disappeared.

That is all I have to report.

no updates available on my side… the last installed is march 6, does it happen sometimes that it takes time for the device to see the update?

I got the update and tried the VuMeter. Same old story, nothing has changed. Changing the two selectable modes does not change the behaviour of the meter. It remains identical.
Thumbs down also to the orange meter. Like the last two added it is unreadable from 3.5 metres (the original I can see just fine) because the scale and the needle have no contrast.
Plus the last meters compared to the first are as flat as a sheet of paper. I avoid talking about the wrong scale. Horrors 😖 😖 😖

Very odd, as the Beta test actually fixed the mode issue.

But nothing else!

@WiiM Team I wonder we we are doing beta testing for you when the fixes are not included into the releases? This is not the first time I have done a test and reported back that it fixed the issue but the fix is then not included in the main firmware.

Just raised a ticket about this failure. Let’s see if something happens

Still has a standby screen bug.

When you configure it to turn off screen in standby, it only tuns off if you power the unit down with the remote. If you let the Ultra time out and go into standby, the screen does not turn of.

Also, please add an option to stop all comunication and power sharing via USB when on standby mode, many DACs will stay tuned on forever without this.

You say this but major changes are coming to Apple's ecosystem, the EU is forcing them to open up to other standards.

Whether this will affect WiiM's ability to offer AirPlay on their Linux based devices or not is yet to be seen, but it's likely Apple products will soon natively start supporting other streaming options which are already working well on WiiM.
Yes, you are right, strictly speaking wen cannot say what's going to happen in the future. But this paragraph ...
In essence, the EU demands that developers be able to integrate alternatives to AirPlay on the iPhone, allowing users to wirelessly cast media to TVs or audio systems.
... describes pretty much the opposite of AirPlay support in the Ultra. It's about Apple opening its devices to support interfaces other than AirPlay.

Technically the Ultra could easily support AirPlay, just like the Amp, the Pro Plus,.the Pro and the Mini. It's all a matter licensing. And.I don't see any EU regulation forcing Apple to license their proprietor technology to everyone (not even in the EU).
