No. Why should I?I assume you are being sarcastic..
We were talking about the WiiM Ultra sub output.

Of course what matters the most in the end is acoustical performance)) but in order to achieve that performance we do all sorts tweaks like upgrading a DAC, or adding a subwoofer and so on..
I've been playing around with such things for about 15 years, and I'm quite firm in my opinion that you'll get better results with your preferred DAC and the Ultra sub out to your subwoofer set up with a good crossover point and room correction than with your preferred DAC running your speakers full range, room correction or not.
Despite being a newbie, I understand that the sub is fed by an analogue signal and there is no need for a digital to analogue conversion within the sub. At least with my sub..)No. Why should I?
It's about the WiiM Ultra sub output. Not the subwoofer internals.Despite being a newbie, I understand that the sub is fed by an analogue signal and there is no need for a digital to analogue conversion within the sub. At least with my sub..)
Really? Sorry, I thought you were just making fun of me) I thought there is only one DAC inside the Ultra)It's about the WiiM Ultra sub output. Not the subwoofer internals.
There is actually 3 as far as I know.Really? Sorry, I thought you were just making fun of me) I thought there is only one DAC inside the Ultra)

If there is a DAC for headphones, does that mean it can output simultaneously with the mains? There is actually 3 as far as I know.
The main, the sub and the headphones.
I am not sure if the headphones uses the main DAC? Someone may correct me.
Some good info in thread 'Teardown of the Ultra' https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/teardown-of-the-ultra.5441/

The subwoofer out needs one. How could it share the main DAC?I’m unable to watch that video, but does it identify three separate DACs? I don’t see that there’s any need for more than one.
The ESS Sabre ES9038 Q2M DAC has only two channels, so only possible to use for RCA stereo output. The subwoofer out needs one. How could it share the main DAC?
No only two. So maybe the headphones really do use the main DAC and there is an analog switch between the RCA output and the internal headphone amplifier?I’m unable to watch that video, but does it identify three separate DACs? I don’t see that there’s any need for more than one.
Not yet, but wiim have started a thread on it.New firmware 9956. Anyone got this?
The release notes for firmware 5.2.709956 ...I just updated my Ultra to firmware 5.2.708441. Now when playing files from an attached USB hard drive I'm having an issue. If I select an album and hit play the track playing is in a panel at the bottom of the screen on my iPhone 13. Now if I click on the panel it is maximized and just shows just the track playing. Now if I click on the three dots in the middle right of the display it brings up a number of choices one of them being "View Album". If I select "View Album" the WiiM app is closed. It should go to the tracks on the album file I'm playing. Why is the WiiM app closing when I select "View Album"? This was not happening with the previous firmware version.
Just out of curiosity I played an album from my Qobuz favorites. When I do the same steps as above and select "View Album" it shows all the tracks on the album and does not close the WiiM app.
I find this to be some type of odd firmware glitch. I powered off the Ultra and my iPhone 13 with no change. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thanks for posting that information. It could be an issue related to indexing as it doesn't happen with Qobuz. I put in a ticket with WiiM support. The release notes for firmware 5.2.709956 ...
@Mr Ee as option why not - but for sure I dont want it - the screen is way too small IMHO
... don't explicitly mention a fix related to this, but more improvements to the indexing process. Maybe it's worth waiting for this update and run the indexing again once you got it.
