My audiologist told me I had rubbish ears so all this room correction and EQ combined is a waste of time for me. All I want is my ultra to work with my TV and my Plex server and sound decent enough., which it does. I would like Youtube music and a proper plex endpoint, all the rest I could do without.

Being an audiophile requires top quality hearing which I no longer have. I'm at the time of life when I have the money to buy expensive hifi gear but what would be the point, it might look nicer than the Ultra but I wouldn't be able to hear the difference.
Ain't life a bummer? 😁
Well look at it this way: good for you that you can't hear room modes. One less thing to worry about.
I can and the RC deals with them.

Nothing for me either, too much use of the words "enhanced", I'm happy with this version thanks.

One don´t need golden years to perceive the difference of at least taming the two or three room modes.
For most rooms (even with some mild treatment) and well placed speakers we get intrusive room modes (and not everybody can place speakers near or in the ideal spot - it is usually physically intrusive).

In my case I have the major room mode at 49Hz, with a +10dB increase (not to mention the sound energy at this and around this frequency that takes more time to disappear).
This leads to masking all sound on the bass and mid-bass region.

Even if auto-correction don't work for you, you can put your room dimensions in several online calculators that calculate this room modes. Find the major one and give a try to manual correction at that frequency and something around -6dB or so and a Q of 2-4.
In WiiM it's absolute easy to enable and disable the EQ while playing the music to see what you like more.

For me RoomFit worked better only correcting 35Hz-300Hz. At full range I did not like the results. The reason may be that I like the sound signature of my B&W 805S speakers.

That's one of the great things about Wiim, they are always trying to improve their gear and add new features long after you have bought them.

The WiiM Mini is a substantially better product now than it was at release.

Will you be able to add the WiiM Sub?

When I did a factory reset the other week after a Firmware update screwed my hdmi,
I clicked on Roomfit and the ultra made a noise, showed me a graph and I accepted it.
Is that all I needed to do? Maybe the RoomFit did a good job the first time around?
I have a 7 m square room and the Ultra sounds fine to me. As my hearing is as far removed from "golden ears" as it's possible to get, I don't think tinkering with RC settings will improve things a great deal. But maybe I'm wrong.
But you are right, altering the EQ whilst I'm listening to music is nice and simple and the different EQ's do make a perceiveable difference to me.

Ticket No.539209

------------------------------
When I woke up in the morning,
the auto-update had reverted mine back to 5.2.723250 😭
------------------------------

After the update, I'm experiencing a strange phenomenon that I've never seen before.

When I completed the update and opened the device screen, I saw the old version of the Rocket.

I have rebooted the Ultra but the icon has not disappeared.

Also, the beta testing screen still shows the 27 June firmware and no 15 July version.

Is this a new feature for manual downdates? (It's a bug, right?)

Every time I open WiiM app, the rocket appears, so I get excited for nothing 😂
😜

Mine also "updated" this morning to v5.2.723250 instead of v5.2.725451. It was already at v5.2.723250 before I was prompted to upgrade. Join Beta Testing still shows v5.2.721349 for Revert to Previous Version. Rebooting did not help.
Same here ..
