Sorry, I assume here that using an iOS device.I’m not sure of the audio route you’re taking - could you expand please?
Are you suggesting using DLNA cast to send audio from your WiiM device to a DLNA renderer app on ios which in return outputs its audio over AirPlay to other target speakers? I wonder if mConnect (or jplay) can act as a DLNA renderer on iOS like Bubbleupnp can do on Android?
