We are currently looking for beta testers for our new Recently Played Widget feature on the WiiM Ultra Screen. This feature makes it easier to quickly select music from your listening history without opening the app, offering one of the fastest ways to enjoy your favorite music.

Hi WiiM Community,

To make it easier for you to join the beta test, we will be releasing an updated app in the coming days. This update will allow you to select the desired beta firmware directly from the app by going to Device Settings -> Device Info -> Join Beta Testing. With this new feature, you will no longer need to sign up your devices through the beta test link.

I will say waste of development resources.

The are so many outstanding issues that should be fixed first.

I too doubt I'd use this feature, but presumably others have asked for it or wiim think it'll be useful. There have been a number of comments on how despite the ultra having a screen the app is still somewhat necessary for use, so this may well suit a number of others.
Doesn't mean I see the need to negatively comment on it though.

but in the same genre "efforts in wiim home" would allow to be useful on all wiim models..not just ultra...
( example..screen' vu metre etc..only for ultra)

My initial test of the WiiM Ultra display "Recently" option in Beta test.

It generally works. There are however some minor issues.

There is no sync with the "Recently Played" in the WHA. Probably because it is local for each device? But feels strange.

The Ultra includes playing from "Preset" selections, the WHA don't. And there is no need to. It's in the "Preset" screen anyway.

The pictures from "Preset" selections is however not included into the list on the Ultra. Only from other selections.

The new option is correctly available from the "Home" screen but why does that screen have a completely other look and feel than the other screens?

Finally I would like to have a longer timeout before the "Recently" screen return to the default screen.

Exactly the same as usual in my experience, but I tend to preface the ticket heading with the beta name e.g. "Beta Wireless Dolby 5.1 - no sound from rear speakers" or similar

It would be useful if a link to submit feedback could be placed on this screen and a subject could be inserted automatically.

A little more test results!

The list of Recently Played selections is cleared by a reboot. So it's of no use, if you power it off each night, as I do.

In many cases the album art is missing.



This is also the case sometimes in the WHA but the icon used are then different.

What about plexamp endpoint which is on the roadmap...

I use Plex(amp) daily, have a WiiM Ultra, will never use this feature and see not a single reason to join the beta.

I get you. But it is what you get if you put a feature on a roadmap, let expectations build up in a forum, take the position that you read all posts and value feedback... And then fail to communicate anything even when called out for at least some info by several users.
