You can do that too! :)

Okay so if my dad has a WiiM Amp Pro that's driving a pair of KEF Q1 Metas, he can hook up his REL subwoofer to the sub out, and then buy 2 of these to make a 4.1 setup? Or buy 3 for full 5.1 setup?

100%, both options are possible.

Congratulations 🤗🎉
Is the WiiM Remote 2 Lite sold separately? Or are you referring to the non-Lite version of the Remote 2?
(Will the black Remote 1 be discontinued?)

Well then, see you tomorrow. Good night.😴😊

Yes this lite version is definitely of interest to me. Here's a question though (and hopefullynot one that is too dumb!). I currently have an amp ultra in my living room system, and a mini in my office (currently connected to a topping headphone amp/dac/preamp and then into an integrated amp and passive speakers). If I got a pair of these to use as desktop speakers in stereo mode, could I control them from either the mini or the amp ultra in living room (but without activating the speakers attached to amp ultra)?

I don't think so, you can't control WiiM Sound from the Amp Ultra (screen). While grouping them allows control, audio will also output through the Amp Ultra speakers. Mute the Amp Ultra to play through pair of WiiM Sound speakers only, and control them from the Amp Ultra screen.

Thanks, I was in a bit of a rush with that post so probably didn't explain my intended use case. Basically I'm wondering if I could basically reconfigure my office system to just a pair of sound lite speakers, controlled via the app with the amp ultra (in living room) as the source (and therefore, do without the mini, integrated amp and passive speakers in the office). Hopefully that makes more sense, even if it doesn't ultimately change the answer too much!

You want to use WSound as the wireless front speakers for the Amp Ultra, right?
(I hope I'm not misunderstanding.)

Currently, that's not possible, but to be honest, I've been thinking the same thing as you.

I was considering enabling the current wireless Dolby 5.1 to position speakers within the group as fronts. If this is possible, we could create a 2-5 ch wireless system using just the Ultra and WSound, without needing to connect an amp and speakers to the Ultra via wires.

Additionally, using WSound for all speakers via Wireless dolby 5.1 offers the advantage of achieving consistent sound quality.

This is a promising new feature I'd like the @WiiM Team to consider.

No, but I think I misunderstood how the sound lite works with other wiim devices. Basically I just want two of these operating in stereo in my office and controlled via app. But now I realise (I think) that this can be done without linking to the amp Ultra.
Like you though, I would also consider getting 3 of these to also use with the amp Ultra for a 5.1 set up.
Can the sound speakers also pair with the wiim sub in a 2.1 without needing to go through another wiim device (e.g. amp ultra)?

Sure.
WSound is a WiiM device with built-in speakers. It base functions the same as other WiiM devices. So, you can group 2 WSound units as a stereo pair and add a Sub pro to create a wireless 2.1ch system.

In this case, you don't need to control them with Amp Ultra. (You can't.)

This is essentially a Wiim Sound without the touch? This seems perfect....hoping white is available at launch!
