WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.704152 - Jan 10, 2025

I added Vtuner to presets to check. It seems to work fine on my Ultra.

Is the volume set to this same?

Yes i set it to "Follow" and saved it for several radio presets.
But from time to time it seems like it switches back to "custom Volume" for any reason.

Seems also to happen to Tidal presets from time to time when switching between presets and looking into the App after a while.

I will keep an eye on it but seems a like a unusual behavior/bug for my taste at this point.

For some reason I don't get simultaneous subwoofer output when I use the USB output, I tried to turn off and turn on the Ultra.es

I'm using an SMSL PO100 Pro, should we also wait for an app update?
Before the subwoofer output did not work via USB connected to an external dac, after the update the subwoofer output already works very

On coax digital when ultra goes on standby the external dac turn off. It has auto on and off. The new usb when ultra goes on standby the external dac wont turn off automatically like coax. I have to use dac remote to turn off. Is anyone having this issue?

Yep...I also lost the trigger. Doggone it. It happens every firmware update.

I also had trouble with Optical IN and USB out with sub. The sub isn't working. Seems OK with other inputs (eg DLNA)

Noticing the Wiim randomly waking up from standby and triggering the 12V out. Seems to have started with this firmware. Mine is connected via HDMI and the TV has not been touched and remained off.

I think WiiM mentioned a few weeks back that the devices reboot every few days when not in use.

That's what I reported earlier roo. Goes away for me if I stop using USB output and switch back to optical. Report to WiiM

Where is the volume step adjustment buried I. The WiiM Home app? Nowhere to be found after the update, and after a reboot.

My CEC TV remote has always been in 1 db increments, the Ultra remote is in 1 db increments…. But where do I find the adjustment menu.

Need to update WiiM app. 3.1

Gotcha. I don’t see it available yet, so I’m assuming it’s coming.
Just now, the Android app has been updated and a "volume adjustment step" has been added to Remote Settings.

With the default "1", both the remote and the volume knob can now be adjusted by 1% each. Perfect 😄.

On the Edit Smart Preset screen, a three-point icon appears to the right of a empty preset to select the input 😄.

So I finally got app 3.1.0 and was hoping it would allow me to get rid of the coloured bars on both sides of the artwork ... But all I can see is a choice between "features colour" which seem to be the new colour bars without a way to actually chose the colour (I want black) and "blurred background" which I assume is the old display before the January firmware.

Am I missing something?

Hi @Smartplug
I too have had this inconvenience from the first day of using the Ultra. My Topping D70 Pro Sabre has auto on off, but with the Ultra and USB it never worked. It works instead with the COAX and SPDIF output. I had reported this at the time by opening a ticket from the App, but @WiiM Support and @WiiM Team beautifully ignored the problem. No response, no fix. To get my Topping turned off without having to manually turn it off, I had to resort to a Trigger cable. A fix would be welcome. It is never too late ;)
However, this is not the only problem with USB. Another problem is that you cannot do RC per channel. As I said, the Ultra is connected to my Topping DAC with USB. If you try RC per channel, instead of Sweep Tone, some unidentified noise comes out of the speakers, like white or pink noise, and you get crazy curves.
It works instead in stereo. Also reported more than once without response or fix.🤔

I have the same DAC and noticed that too. I think what happens is when the DAC turns itself off due to "no signal" it vanishes from USB. I don't know if the issue here is that it wants to go into USB suspend mode and the WiiM doesn't supports that properly, or if the DAC actually vanishes from USB completely in which case it's a DAC bug. I suppose I might be able to figure it out by plugging it into a PC and analysing what happens at the USB level but I don't really have time for that

In my case this was solved by using the 12V trigger to control the DAC. This worked fine until this latest FW update. That said here too I don't know if the problem has anything to do with the trigger. I setup the topping to just stay on and it didn't help. With the new firmware, when the Ultra turns off, it turns itself back on either immediately or shortly afterwards whenever it is setup to use USB output.

Here’s a golden goose question, did you hear improvement using usb over coax? In paper, using usb has the advantage but our ear is not instrumental grade where tiniest information can be detected. The usb in ultra remain active even goes on standby and the dac sense it why it doesn’t turn off. I’m using the trigger 12v on the amp. I did not know independent rc don’t work right till I read your message. I will do extensive listening and weigh in the pros and cons of usb. Having dac that won’t turn off like before was deal breaker for me.

You should get promoted to technical wiim support. You respond to all user that has issue or the things they don’t know what their doing. You have my vote and pretty sure others would agree.
