They should stop spending resources on it and just build a module that can be open source so the community can build whatever they want, then "everyone" would be happyI was hoping for a retro vu meter but we just got a color change of the old one with the same behaviour. I hope that they read us and at least they tweak it to make it more functional (that +10db thingy drives me nuts)
You don't have the 3 lines on the right side of each entry?
Well, well, my age isn’t far off on yours. I should have thought about that since very few user name would use skull if they’re young. It would be interesting if we still be around in 15 years on this age.Ain’t been called young in nearly 60 years thanks for that![]()
It’s actually my online gaming handle I have used since the 90’sWell, well, my age isn’t far off on yours. I should have thought about that since very few user name would use skull if they’re young. It would be interesting if we still be around in 15 years on this age.
Well, priorities are different and if you can already show a VU meter on the display, why not do it in good and beautiful?I totally and completely don't care about VU meters. At all
And you cannot drag it. That is strange.Yes, I do.
Yeah, I just tried that myself and it is very useful!Got the latest FW. Thanks @WiiM Team for adding Preset sorting. Now we need an option to share Presets with other WiiM devices.

These are still wrong. They are for a power amplifier output. The WiiM Ultra is a digital pre-amp and the meters should show input in dBFS.Well, priorities are different and if you can already show a VU meter on the display, why not do it in good and beautiful?
There are also some people who buy such displays as standalone devices.
The market is full of suggestions for a good implementation of VU meters.

Some of us use it as a tool. So why not implement it correctly? It will not hurt those that just want something nice.as a reminder...
most of the people pointing at the VU meters only want a decorative object... with a vague aspect of coherence in the dynamic behavior with what they listen to... no?
and it's assumed.. ;-)
you are a very rare case... ;-)Some of us use it as a tool. So why not implement it correctly? It will not hurt those that just want something nice.
This I agree with you. This VU meter is becoming an obsession from other users. They would be better off just buy a screen and look at the screen all day long.as a reminder...

(ps wiim ultra etc is not a sound card ;-) )
Maybe. But I do try to use it.you are a very rare case... ;-)
I actually try to use it for adjusting the analog input from a tape recorder. For now I have to turn the Amp off, turn the volume full up and then I see the meter go to around +5 dB at max. I don't know why that value is max or if it represents the volume when all bits are 1? If it does, the scale should show 0 dBFS.I totally get your point and I can follow that line of thought. For most it's just a gimmick. They care about a nice retro look, not about something useful. Right now, WiiM don't please any of both camps.![]()
but I don't object to it at all... I pointed out from the beginning that it is irrelevant...Maybe. But I do try to use it.

What I need is the measures of the input, after pre-gain, on...
I don't understand why you will argue against making something working correctly?
