WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.713345 - Apr 9, 2025

I measure the rca out with a multimeter but it seems it is working. But need to borrow some amplifier to try it.
If it seems to be working (you're getting a meaningful voltage reading when music is playing and the volume is turned up) then the Ultra is certainly not faulty, true.

You could open your own thread in the general troubleshooting forum if you still think some members here could provide input:

Is there a way to change to the old firmware?

I really appreciate the ultra (I have 2) but the vu meter... It's embarrassing... Couldn't we have a spectrum maybe?
Thanks
P.

No, you have to send feedback to WiiM through the WiiM Home app on your smartphone (tab "More" => "Feedback").

You should do that anyway, reporting your issue. When sending feedback through the WiiM Home app, device logs will be sent along so WiiM might be able to spot any irregularities.

6. Group Volume via TV Remote: Control group volume directly using your TV remote.

I hope this is also fixed for playing to persistent group from Spotify app via Connect.
Hi hgo58,

Yes, this fix will also apply to any persistent group for any music sources.

Please review the WiiM Ultra update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us. This firmware update is being rolled out in stages, with devices updating sequentially over the next few days.

5.2.713345 (In Progress)

Release date:

4 / 9 / 2025

What's New:
5. Enhanced VU Meter
: Smoother, more responsive visual performance.
Instead of investing (wasting) a lot of resources in the useless VU-Meter, it would be better to finally de-energize the USB when the Ultra is off, or in standby - this way the DAC would also turn off automatically.

Also it will be good to make screen time-out: for example 30 seconds of active screen after changing volume or track

I want to try another amplifier first. I go to the thrift store and see if they have something.

How many are using the regular FW release supporting Chromecast 2.0 vs the ‘whitelisted’ version supporting Chromecast 1.56?

Is the current Chromecast 2.0 implementation working well? Does it support 96kHz?

Mine shows 1.68.cast_20240919_0200_RC02.676307360

You can find i

In google home app
No problems with 96 khz streams
I asked because my Google Home version is a very different string. Yours has a RC designation I have not seen before. Also it is a 1.68 so not the newest 2.0.

Has something changed regarding ARC? It has worked perfectly for months but since this update, after some time switched off, there is no sound unless the Ultra is rebooted.

I think that 1.68 is the actual version number used to identify "GC4A 2.0" or "Castlite" implementations.

Maybe it's time for us to leave the whitelist ...
I requested removal from 1.56 chromecast. Received the penultimate version 5.2.711448 with 1.68…

It does not cast correctly from the Qobuz app. 96kKz gets transcoded to 44.1. Time to go back to 1.56 again…
