WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.634663 - Nov 5, 2024

@WiiM Support
DLNA not working properly after recent update. Media in the USB Disk that connected to WiiM ultra disappeared from Home Music Share. The CD also can’t play over the DLNA network now.
I have a Denon CEOL that uses HEOS. I can browse the DLNA items and see the CD player built into the CEOL, but hitting play does nothing. Is this the type of thing that should be working via DLNA?

Mine worked perfectly before recent firmware update.

These are two totally different things, though.

WiiM had removed the Ultra's own DLNA server from showing up in Home Music Share. They thought it might lead to confusion, so decided to make the USB storage device accessible from the input selection only. This is exactly what @deadwing hat noticed:
Yes, USB Disk has disappeared from Home Music Share under browse in the app, however USB is available and playable in Source Input. Also USB Disk as a DLNA library is still available in my BubbleUPnP android app. So as you say DLNA not working as it did.
However, this idea wasn't all that brilliant in the end. First of all, users complaint (and rightly so) that they now had to teach everybody in the house to use different way for accessing different DLNA servers. Not so good. Secondly, and as you noted yourself ...
... playing source from USB disk, then automatically change to WiFi.
... the USB drive is accessed like a DLNA server on the network anyway, the input selection doesn't stick to "USB" ever.

On the other hand, all other DLNA servers on the network should be visible and usable through Home Network Share just as before. If this is not the case, this is a separate issue.

Admittedly, I am still surprised that playing a CD in real time (without loading it into any form of memory first) from a Blu-ray ever worked. This feature isn't even mentioned in the BDP-S6700 manual.

This was exactly what I did in the past. BDP-S6700 acts as DMS, all content (CD, USB) were playable.
